Shark Bytes

(Stone Harbor School Newsletter)

A Brief History: The Computer Club was formed in October 1995 with the purpose of creating a school newsletter. Members of the club include students in grades 5 through 8. The club advisor is Mr. Dal Santo.

Shark Bytes, the name of the newsletter, also originated in 1995. Students in the computer club were asked to share their ideas for naming the newsletter, and after a club vote, the name Shark Bytes was selected. The name is symbolic, the Shark represents the school mascot, and the word Byte is a computer term referring to 8 binary bits of data that represents a character or digit.

In November 2004, the Computer Club began its tenth year of Desktop Publishing. In addition to writing articles for the school newsletter, students will be adding information to the newsletter highlights (below).
